These shorts are made to order. They run true to size. The pants fabric option is for the shorts underneath, and the skirt fabric option is for the waistband and skirt.
You can choose either a yoga waistband or an elastic waistband. Please note, the yoga waistband fits bigger than the elastic, especially with rib knit fabric
